Women in Menswear?

Is unisex clothing the next big trend? Who says granddaddy fashion can't make a comeback? Hopefully when the trend makes it's way to America, it'll come back simple (and not with too much of a vengence.) Simple is great! Belgium designer Bruno Pieters took this 'unisex concept' and ran with it! His Fall 2008 look book is an introduction to androgyny layering tailored jackets and pantsuits with ladies platforms and a touch of masculine flair. I *do* mostly like how he pairs it with oxford platforms (very forward) The other strong like this season is women in dresses and patent leather 'oxford flats' (I ♥ cause it's very London inspired!)

Overall, I feel overall that Bruno's collection, is not a bad look. But definitely not a look for everyone. Take me for instance, I LOVE vintage men's tees, and shopping in men's accessories for scarves and suspenders. (But that's about as far as I'll take it) I also feel that the androgynous 'style' can be a good thing, if worn correctly. One of the 'androgynous' looks I'm feeling currently is a modern take on the "oversized men's blazer." The fact is, there are a lot of ways it can look sloppy, but if worn properly it can transform into something very feminine...

Get Acquainted: Zach Posen Fall 2008

What can I say, other than Zach Posen is killing the game right now... his range goes from vampy uniforms to sleek tailored suits and dresses to whimsical cut gowns to lingerie-inspired day or evening wear. Some people may think Zach Posen is a bit off by the minnie mouse pom pom hair poofs lol, but I think it's a sheer genius move. I especially love how doll-like his models have been dressed, with this collection. I find it truly edible! This collection may be old news to some of you, but I find relevance in Zach's line as fall 2008 is only a few weeks away! And so is my birthday. What better time to get informed than now?

Just Layer it up; Ask Chloe...

Chloe` is right on target with my love for layering. And winter is one of my ideal seasons, (I know it sounds a bit crazy) yet in this collection, Chloe label reminds us how amazing personal style is, cause there are no rules. I am teetering over the colorful winter 2008 options we have, courtesy of darling Chloe` ... Melim Andersson's inspiration was the 1970's Bohemian hippie. One of my favorite fashion era's....

So, with all the boho-inspired 1970's collectibles, who says you can't wear dresses, let alone 'color' in the winter? Just layer it up! I truly *adore* the way Chole` paired the active-wear pieces and glammed it up with socks & heels, just adorable! Looks like something I would do, which is the key reason, I had to post this very blog. ;-)

Etro's Iconic Expression....

Etro is truly something else, in my opinion... I don't know who else can take a military inspired 'androgynous' look and pair it with a tad of gothica and make it look so feminine and enticing... Etro's advanced fashion-forward flair tends to keep me at the edge of my seat, curious to know what's next to come... I'm not sure if any of you have been introduced to the S/S 2008 Etro looks yet? For those of you, that don't know... please scroll back through my blog post last May... your in for sum LOVELY visual candy!

Some of my 'wish looks' are the feathered pieces... I'm big for multi-print and anything Native American inspired right now. It's also the hints of the 1970's which makes me very happy to know, that its coming right about around, and around again... (big smile).

Missoni Takes The Lead....

Missoni takes the booties footwear to a whole other level, and it's exactly where I'm at this fall... I love the dark elegance to the imagery, it has a very classic feel and the styling is lovely, (even as simple as it is...) Missoni always makes such beautiful use of texture, which falls perfectly into the trend categories for A/W 2008. Here's a sneak peek into their advertisement and editorials, along with one of my favorite catwalk looks.... Although this season's collection is reminiscent of the 1960's, (which this display doesn't exemplify to the fullest) I pulled from Missoni's set of looks, my top picks.

Fancy Footwear Oh My!

As fall is becoming rather close, it's time to unpack the boxes of boots and shoes stowed (and almost forgotten) in my closet, and give them some attention. With that said, it's also time to UPDATE my collection... I am just about as in love with Givenchy as I could possibly be right about now... some of my fall favorites for footwear are the bootie shoe, patent leather, native american inspired, cut-out platforms, and straps gone mad on every possible design!

These amazing shoes are $628.95 (half off the other pair.)

& these, $799.00 since I listed all the other JP's prices.

Furthermore...........................I *could* go crazy and all out & buy 60% of these shoes on credit, but then I would have to live IN them... cause in that case, I would have to be a gypsy with no home. Yuk! Which would then make me 'The Old Lady Who Lived in Her Shoe'... Literally! And nothings that serious, ever. After all the economy isn't the greatest, and what foolishness that would be.
