Design Innovator: Knitwear

Sandra Backlund is what I like to call a "design innovator" as she is quite amazing at what she does! Her Fall 2008 collection, "Last Breath Bruises" is a mash up of heavy wool and knitting formed into her unique 'handcraft process' [which is more from a sculptor point of view than a tailor.] Using materials in the 'wool family' and applying collage knitting...Backlund produces an array of phenomenal, galaxy driven structured pieces for her collection... Absolutely stunning! ♥
