Paris is one of the fashion capitals that run the race...and Balenciaga races to the top of my list for extraordinary Fall 2009 collections. ♥ x

Android Interpretation

As it seems scientific dress shapes now mark the leader for the most sought after innovative dress form. The android representation in all three designs below give us a 'sample' of what to look for... in this new phenomenon of style that has suddenly emerged. Balenciaga is by far one of my ultimate favorite pacesetter's in the existence of genius. Vogue U.K gives us a peek into this new study for the late February 2009 issue. ♥

♥ La Balenciaga

Of all of the razzle & dazzle rage of Spring 2009, led predictably by Balenciaga, there is no doubt why Nicolas Ghesquière receives all of the notoriety. With an explosion of iridescent colors, sparkly and matte, he chose to focus on light and how it reflects (& absorbs) through the textures of his collection. Ghesquière paints on silvered Lurex onto models legs, hands, and feet, creating a montage between futuristic prisms of color and modern spectrum's of light. Its the spring palette draped together in beams of pewter, gold, pink, silver, and green in sequened textures that I love the most! This collection is part sci-fi, part futuristic, and undeniably all about new technology. Yes it's so, that Balenciaga delivers this season! Although I've previously touched on this topic...see, "Balenciaga shoes (spring 2009)" It's now time to discuss the shapes of the innovative Balenciaga collection... Ghesquière's choice of color is sensational... and has a touch of fantasy, which I adore.

Murder She Wrote!

Please, do not hate on Balenciaga Spring 2009 for murdering the platform trend. It's all about the leadership antics with these show-stoppers, children. It's athletic meets leather and suede platforms on a stage of it's own... These are the double-dare-you-to-rock-these-to-the-club, shoes. A shoe that sets off the richter scale, and steals the show... I'm sickly obsessed with the beige pair. They are so hot they gag me. lol!

A Balance of Fashion And Forward....

Balenciaga takes center stage on the accessories catwalks for F/W 2008! As a designer, It's very important to shine in contrast to every other designer out there. From the "formal" labeling as a trendsetter, to the space-tech genie. It all counts. It's about individualism. Placing your signature on your own collection. This is what triggers a trend, long before the acclaim begins. Balenciaga, never ceases to fail! I am in a euphoric state of shoe heaven, because once again... Balenciaga has stolen my ♥ for fall (reminds me of the fall 2007 accessory collection! oh gawd!) Brilliant! It has exceedingly moved past shoe shapes, structure, and height. We've now elevated to pure genius. Take a peek!













The facts about 'collective study' or trend research in Balenciaga's case, is it's *clearly* ALL about interpretation. This form of brilliance only comes from an internal instinct. Fortunately it cannot be pulled/created through modern fashion trend reports. (I don't care how 'good' you are.) Sorry, to all the 'up & coming tee shirt designers! (not to be so crass, or discredit the contribution) lol There are just certain 'leagues' of innovation and Balenciaga always stands front and center! *This* is what makes history. I appreciate the architectural influences continually translated. Balenciaga undoubtedly defines fashion forward elements continually, so far ahead of the 'game'...that most people are literally light years behind. Bravo once again, Balenciaga! I am in ♥
