P.S.

Proenza Schouler and New York Fashion Week highlights. You must click to appreciate.... In the meantime, you'll discover that texture is a primary focus for Fall 2009. Well executed by Schouler, and always fashion-forward with a rich aesthetic and an eyebrow raise... You'll find endless inspiration in this structural collection. There's a fine need for tweed, linen, leather, & wool blends. Color & texture is key, and the shape of the garment holds the strongest value. Opt for pieces that work to suit your silhouette and show off your curves...whatever your shape work with what you have. xx

P for Pieters

Holy design genius! Bruno Pieters rolls out the red carpet with this exclusive Fall 2009 collection. Can you say literal fancy to futurism? I am a fan. From the stark, smoldering contrasts ranging from burnt orange, copper, silver, smokey gray and black, there is balance in repetition. Android fashion is well occupying the most sought after trend byte for 2010... and Pieters supports this fact using geometry and 3-D shapes. A forward sense of technology influences the pop-art layout design. Definitely an A-list collection for a broad minded trend-savvy person. Strictly for an assertive woman in a powerful position. One who makes an impression on the world at large. Pieter's A/W 09 staple looks are a progressively new and futuristic trend. Be on the lookout... Topshop just might be the one to sample it first. x

Bringing in a New Shape

And with so much to love about Fall 09, next to add to the list is Yigal Azrouel collection. Makes me really look forward to the next season in fashion. The layers and tweed textures are next. And replication of the body-con dresses mark a reason to celebrate a woman's curves. If you don't have them, add them with plenty of waist gathers, pleats, and cinching around the hips. This is a perfect time to begin your smooth transformation into adjusting to the new shape of womanhood. You can wear your dresses snug and tightly fitted, or hung loosely and draped across your body. A key look for any woman ages 20-50. You can look smart and sexy it's all a matter of perspective. Know your shape, and what works for it, and don't limit your potential. ♥ x

Imagination Is Colorful

A toast to exquisite design in Erdem's Fall 2009 Resort Collection. Texture is everything. Let's forget pattern, or print for a second. Texture is how the garment fits to your body. Erdem's pieces cling to your curves in silk and satin fibers, perfect tailoring, and frame enhancing. If there's one specific feature to highlight, it's the color palettes chosen and bleeding together, that set's a new standard. Paired with a unique sequence of paisley's and floral breaks in the fabric, we have a well-distinguished collection. Fiery and imaginative. Truly delightful! x

West.Bound. [westward]

A magnificent highlight of Paris Fashion Week, pulls Vivienne Westwood's 'red label' collection center row, prestigious & illuminating the Fall 2009 catwalk with unbound imagination. Once again, delivering brilliant layering concepts, plenty of ruffles for the feminine shape, next level merchandising, ultra sexy heels, center thigh high boots for just the right right amount of "sex factor." Completely in ♥ with the rich colors, fluidity of the dresses, the exclusive design elements and overall, the functionality of each individual look. ♥ rawk.on. x

A Different Class...

Can't buy me love, but you can buy your woman something timeless... Give a moment to discover Doo.Ri Chung's take on Fall 2009 womens-wear. She takes New York Fashion Week by storm focusing on metallics, and metal hues bringing the liquid and wet look to a whole new height. When it comes to the business world, it's equally imperative to have one key item in your wardrobe, that you wear as a statement piece, everyday. Setting yourself apart in a liquid metallic pantssuit is the start of a fantastic trend, and I say wear it with strength, and accessorize in all black. Powerful and in charge. ♥ this collection!

Shoe Heaven

The bottom line is, I can't take my eyes off of these shoes! Spring 2009 collections from various designers like: Balenciaga, Acne, Chloe, YSL, Gareth Pugh, Guiseppe Zanotti, Marni & Christian Louboutin. I am dreaming of "Shoe Heaven" and in this economy it's safer to dream than splurge.... the layout offers reasonably priced beautiful footwear selections too.... because reality is a sure thing next to a dream. So yes, you can be sexy in heels this spring in top designer shoes... for a steal...well if you know where to look. Enjoy the amazingness! x

The Next Trend

London Fashion Week presents the William Tempest collection at Vauxhall Fashion Scout. A prominent feature on the runways for Fall 2009 correlates corset waists and embellishement on the hips and shoulders. A super hot take on futurism... as for a new designer, and a previous winner as a 4th time finalist for the design quad Fashion Fringe, Tempest shows he is highly capable of launching a successful collection... With a unique spin on La Femme Fatal, his collection inspires a delightful modern detective-style apparel with sexy straps, and plenty of exaggeration...This season, Tempest sets a trend for prints ranging in sci-fi graphics to super florals.... A marvelous collection... and a *key* trend to anticipate.

Dazed

Mary Katrantzou debuts her ready to wear Fall 2009 collection for London Fashion Week. I am slightly underwhelmed but still can appreciate the graphic prints she chose to explore for her first debut collection. Fine silks in flute shaped dresses, are a bit of a snore... but the prints are what sets it off for me. Katrantzou comes from a jewelry design background and her accessories are both bold and hand crafted. Katrantzou get's an A+ for the retro prints and stunning jewelry... x

The Next Level

Hannah Marshall executes incredibility once again for Fall 2009...She tips the rector scale of hotness and never ceases to amaze my imagination... the way she paints her creativity in shape and invention and in using black material is clever and next level. She designs every piece in black, every season.... Bold and innovative. So much to adore! ♥ She takes London Fashion Week by storm without disappointment. My kind of designer! Serious *swooning* going on over here.....xx

De La Chic

As it seems, Milan Fashion Week has cooked up a stunning collaboration of designers for Fall 2009. One of my favorites this season is Aquilano.Rimondi for setting the pace in designating a modern twist of the rather forgetful memory of puff sleeve dresses and over-sized shoulder pads. This advanced shape in the shoulders, sleeves and hips region is captivating and quite shape friendly. Women of all shapes, sizes and heights could easily dazzle the hearts of metrosexual men across the globe. These designs are powerful, sophisticated, fashion forward, and made for bold and assertive women around the world. Bravo to AR for such a splendid Fall 2009 collection... ♥ x

Till Eternity!

W Magazine
presents...Lara Stone in a sensual fashion story called "From Here To Eternity." Stone emulates her version of "Brigitte Bardot" modeling tailored suits reminiscent of the 1960's and obviously inspired by it's powerful career woman era... This fashion editorial represents a beautiful interpretation of history. I am swooning over the creative direction & scenic beaches of 'Amanyara' in the West Indian island of Turks and Caicos. What a spectacular way to utilize a beach... in a non-cliche` kind of way.... absolutely brilliant!!

Takes My Breath Away

Hands down, Sandra Backlund predominates the knitwear designer sphere of innovation & does it with pure intelligence. Distorting and transforming the human silhouette by way of fabric manipulation is something she lives for.... The enormous thing that separates Backlund from any other knitwear designer is that she considers herself more of a sculptor, than a designer & season by season she embodies this theory. A rare mix of conceptualization and raw talent makes for a lasting ingredient for success! I am a huge supporter of Sandra Backlund... Next, I must get my hands on one of these breathtaking pieces!! xx

Cutouts Rule Fall 2009

Once again, Preen brings the business for Fall 2009! Preen began it's label as a contemporary designer with a body-conscious theory to their design sequence. Season after season, the collection evolves into a reformed version of the last season... staying within the same vein of the previous collection. One piece that sticks out with me and Preen is the undeniable fact that their designs are continuously pretty... An even mix of modern retro takes from the 1980's and oozing with sex appeal for the daring type... xxx

Parisian Heart ♥

Paris Fashion Week is unstoppable! And I am officially obsessed with the Lanvin Fall 2009 Show. The retro feeling with the giant bows, cinched waists, ruffles, one shoulder straps, opera length gloves, and fur stoles is definitely a re-visit into 1940's glamour. I officially want to be the Lanvin career woman that these pieces are designed for....Interestingly, I can see someone like Victoria Beckham parading all over the world in most of this collection... superb & undeniably powerful!

Chloe Fall 2009

Paris Fashion Week and "Next Level" go hand in hand. Chloe` offers a rather warm alternative for an interesting Fall 2009 palette. There is something very vintage and yet still quite modern about the Chloe` brand, which I find insatiable. Hannah MacGibbon the face behind the emerging of the 'new & improved' Chloe` label, is quite the looker in her sense of personal style. I feel it's a fantastic thing, that she chose to rope in the early 1980's because this collection has a great sense of consistency with the sign of the times. Hence, recession. Though MacGibbon chose a neutral base this season, these are versatile pieces that every buyer across the globe could sell with their eyes closed. Smart & effective! ♥

She has worked with designers such as Alexander McQueen and Boudicca. And hands down, simply amazing! Check her Spring 2009 collection below & the layout I created... Cheers! x

Anti-LFW Expectations

Fall 2009 and London Fashion Week is always a very surprising and exciting time. One guarantee is that it will never fail to exceed your expectations. The latest and greatest at LFW can be slight challenging to slim down, not only because there are so many top pickings, but mainly because you always discover such a mash-up of talent and edge. Designers at LFW tend to think a bit more outside the box, to the sometimes almost too conservative collections you will find at Milan and New York Fashion Week. Charles Anastase takes a plunge into the unknown, and extends his trend forecasting ideals to a whole new extreme. This is what I ♥ to engage myself in! Let's take a peek at the designers that make a difference, it's so much more interesting... Anastase went less whimsical than his Spring 2009 choices... and far further left than I anticipated... interrogating the idea of gothic-influencing. I enjoy Anastase either way, and support his decisions as a well-respected designer. Here are just a few highlights.....

Not Your Average Design

Richard Nicoll took London Fashion Week to a whole new level when his models came out on the runway wearing garter belts draped from their clothing. Some of the models wore garter belt masks... which I think is a quite innovative concept... Can't forget the fact that for Fall 2009, Nicoll chose beige, golds, creme and white for his palette pushing the envelope of creativity..... Most Fall 2009 designers opted to stick with the trend report basics of smoky grays, black, cranberry, plum, moss green, and charcoal. I am choosing to focus on those trends 'set apart' ... as I enjoy the collections that aren't quite your average expectation. LFW tends to consistently rattle the runways. Which I find a true inspiration... Enjoy these pieces I handpicked & the layout... xx
