Spastic Graphics

I ♥ Vanessa da Silva's illustrations. She's quite the designer slash graphic artist, a fresh face on the scene... I am mostly pulled in by her boho-inspired collections. She's got a knack for earth girl and 70's-inspired fashion which I'm especially digging on. Da Silva did a spring 2009 collaboration with Topshop UK that consists of tee shirts, capes, and tank tops, all graphically balanced with her own artwork as a staple. Brilliant! Wings Will Make You Fly

Kate Moss models her own line for Topshop Spring 2009 wearing her own pieces for her official advertisement campaign. She looks gorgeous as usual! My top pick is the wing jacket... If I could have a super-power it would be to fly.

TOPshop New York Opening!

Well it's about time Topshop made it to New York! Many of us have been awaiting this moment for nearly a year (since the original talk about it last spring) and it's delay in opening at the Soho location in early October 2008. Well now it is finally time... Topshop New York is officially here! I located these snapshots from one of my favorite streetstyle blogs: Stylesight: I am just as excited to see Topshop New York in the flesh, as everyone else. Yet I'll have to wait till next month... (As I'm in London currently) and although I have access to the best location: Topshop Oxford Street Station shop, I wonder how it will differ from NY. This should be a fun discovery. x

Invasion of Style

Topshop London Spring 2009 is a collaboration of pop-influenced retro fashion and oozing with style. Topshop has a way of glorifying pop culture and it's influence on trends around the world. In the many era's of fashion coming and going, and coming right back around again, we all can witness how this movement has become a springboard to our own individual style consciousness. As for Topshop, there's a direction and an intention behind these trend choices. Think of pop culture merged with contemporary individualism. Take for instance, the spaced out platform heels, sportswear & harem pants dressed up with platforms and contemporary pieces like jackets and waist belts. There's an essence of van halen rock chic, inspired by trends of the late 80's and early 90's, acid wash skinnies, cropped trousers with zipper stripes, fringed booties another late 70's early 80's trend, then a trend that's been moving strong for several seasons pay close attention to the disco, and graphic prints, as they come in body conscious asymmetrical sihlouettes, with the return of one of my favorite fabrics: jersey. Jersey worn as sportswear. Think: jane fonda 1980 yet modern in edge. I always ♥ & support Topshop, not only because it's super forward, but because Topshop has something for every style, shape, and almost every body type. As a designer, I know that mastering that technique can be a challenge.

Lust-Worthy

Topshop has an awe-inspiring Christmas Look-Book for Winter 2008 all about the dark and romantic moods, looks and feelings... I recently visited Topshop in London, in the West-end (Oxford St. Circus) and what a ZOO it was!! I wanted to snap shots of the beautiful maniquins because they are so amazingly unique, but it was raining and so many people around that people were literally stepping all over my toes, and I lost the passion. I promise to go back before I leave, and show you what I'm talking about. In the meantime, enjoy these SEXY topshop looks, cause I certainly do!











My favorite among all of these fashion sets (or looks) is definitely the Pagan. :)

TOPshop is coming to NYC!!

Topshop is finally coming to New York October 2008! (For some of you, this is an 'old' topic yet, it's still FANTASTIC news!) So the word is, the new Topshop location will be at: 478 Broadway (in SoHo which is currently being occupied as a streetwear shop.) SoHo is among one of my favorite shopping places in new york, aside from williamsburg, brooklyn.

So with that said, I'm extremely excited about this Topshop discovery (since I'll be spending a lot of time in New York this fall.) Topshop London is TRULY to die for, with their 'vintage findings at the Oxford Street shop. (I'll be visiting that location and taking lots of snapshots there as well, pictures soon to come.) So with Topshop opening in New York, do you know what this means for us Americans? We get to have the concepts of U.K fashion right at our fingertips (without having to make a trip overseas.) LOVELY! waaaahooo! ;-)
